Are Part Worn Tyres Safe?
This is one of the most common questions we get, and it’s a fair one. The short answer is yes — provided they’ve been properly inspected and meet the legal standards, part worn tyres are perfectly safe to use on public roads.
In the UK, part worn tyres must have a minimum tread depth of 2mm across the central three-quarters of the tread and around the entire circumference. At Baig Tyres, we go through each tyre carefully before listing it for sale. We won’t sell a tyre we wouldn’t fit on our own vehicles.
That said, not all sellers are this careful. If you’re buying from anyone, always check for the legal markings, look for any bulges or cracks in the sidewall, and make sure the tread is even. When you buy from us, that work is already done.
How Much Do Part Worn Tyres Cost?
